1) Do you Charge Deposits?
Yes, we do. Similar to a rental car company, we will ‘hold’/‘block’ a small amount from your credit or debit card which will be released to you at the end of your rental term and upon the return of the equipment.
For full details see our Rental Terms and Conditions.
2) What do I get with the board rental?
In addition to a quality inflatable stand up paddleboard, we’ll also supply a handy backpack carry bag, a manual pump, a paddle and a leash.
You can also, for additional cost, rent electric pumps, dry bags, buoyancy aids etc. through our online booking system.
3) Am I insured? LP to ask insurer - send email
WE PROVIDE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR OUR REMOTE SUP HIRE
This means that our kit is covered for up to £5M to other peoples’ property when the board are being used correctly when under Hire.
We DO NOT provide Hirers with Personal Injury Cover. Hirers are advised to have cover and check with their own home or travel policy before hiring.
If you need to purchase insurance, then we can recommend this site: https://www.supinsure.com/
We insure our boards for damage and theft. There will be a charge for any damage or loss to our boards. For more details click HERE
4) How does your rental system work?
Very simply: choose your boards(s), select how many you need and for how many days and complete our booking process online. You will have the option to choose whether to collect the equipment yourself or have it delivered to you. On the day the rental term starts, we will then either deliver the equipment or you will collect it from our office in Cala Nova, as specified in your booking. At the end of the rental term, we will either collect the equipment or you will drop it back to us, as specified in your booking.
5) Are your boards suitable for children?
Yes, our boards are suitable for children. Although not specifically designed for children (ours are slightly larger in size than the specified ‘child board’), these boards can hold the weight of one or a number of children safely. All boards come with an ankle leash and advise that this should be attached to one person AT ALL TIMES. The paddle board also makes a great platform for children to jump in and out of the water.
We always recommend that children are supervised by a capable adult at ALL times on the water.
6) Can I Hire for 1 Day?
Yes, you can hire by the hour (minimum 2 hour rental), day or week. Our hour and 1 day rental is for collection only.
7) What are your delivery charges?
Our delivery charge is EUR15 each way. If you want to avoid paying for delivery, you can collect from us in our Cala Nova office.
8) How heavy are the boards?
Our boards are inflatable, lightweight and can easily be carried by an adult. Our boards vary in weight depending on the size and make. The Paddle Ibiza 10’8 board is the lightest at approximately 11 kilos and the Blackfin Model V 12’6 is the heaviest at 13.5 kilos.
We supply a backpack if you want to carry your board to the more remote locations. This weighs approx. 16 kilos with the board, pump & paddle inside it.
9) Will I fall in?
Not necessarily! But possible! Falling in is often part of the learning process but it really isn’t something to be scared of. It will depend on your balance ability and the water conditions. We advise that should you feel yourself falling, always try to fall away from the board to avoid any unnecessary injuries; you’re less likely to hurt yourself landing on the water than on the board. With a good technique and on calm waters you should stay dry.
Always wear appropriate clothing and have a dry set to change into at the end of your trip.
10) Can you deliver to my holiday accommodation?
Yes, we can deliver to your hotel, villa or apartment. We will need signatures and a valid credit/debit card so please make sure to be present at the scheduled delivery time. Delivery times will be discussed with you prior to the delivery date.
11) Which payment methods are accepted?
We use RedSys for secure online and offline payments and we accept all major credit and debit cards.
12) Can I buy a board if I like it?
This is sometimes possible depending on our stock levels. Let us know if you want to keep your board, we will be happy to discuss it.
13) Can I cancel my order?
Yes, a full refund is given up to 3 days (72 hours) before the rental term begins.
14) Is paddle boarding safe?
Yes, under the right conditions SUP is very safe. However, like all water based activities, it is definitely not without its dangers and therefore must be respected accordingly. Wind is probably the biggest and most common danger to an open water paddle board session so it is always important to be aware of the wind and water conditions and its forecast beforehand, ESPECIALLY if you are thinking of going out of the bay.
Please contact us should you want the wind and water forecast or indeed for any suggestions of where to paddle given a particular day’s conditions.
We advise that you wear your ankle leash at all times.
We advise children should be supervised at all times.
If you go out on your own, we advise you tell someone of your destination and route plan, and the expected time you will return.
We do not recommend the use of our equipment under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Remember to stay hydrated and to wear sunscreen and a hat if going long distance.
Make sure at least one of your group has a mobile phone with you in a waterproof bag.
We advise paddling in pairs if you are going on a long trip.
15) Are there tides?
There are no tides in the Mediterranean.
16) Are there sharks?
No there are no sharks around the coasts of Ibiza.
17) Are there jellyfish?
Yes there may be. If you encounter a lot of jellyfish or are concerned we recommend going onto your knees to lessen the chance of falling in.
There is the ‘MedusaIbiza’ app that can prove helpful to check.
For any unlikely stings, we do carry anti-histamine cream with us on our excursions.
32) Can I paddle in the dark?
Although we thoroughly enjoy and encourage a sunset paddle, we advise everyone to time the excursion to be back on the beach soon after to avoid paddling in the dark. It goes without saying, we strongly advise against paddling in the dark.
18) How do we know the conditions?
It is important to be aware of the wind and weather conditions including wind direction and wind strength before heading out of the bay.
Apps such as Windy or ‘Magic seaweed’ (to name just a couple) are worth consulting prior to setting out.
Do feel free to ask us if you are concerned.
19) Can I wear sunglasses?
Yes you can. However we suggest you don’t take your favourites just in case!
20) Do the paddles float?
Yes the paddles should float.
21) Can the boards deflate whilst I’m on the water?
No, boards will stay robust on the water due to the quality material and valve system. All of our boards are made of strong PVC material and although designed to withstand a little bumping about, we do strongly advise staying clear of any rocks or boats, sharp objects and rough surfaces etc.
22) How do I carry my board?
All the boards have carrying handles permanently attached to them. Please use these to carry your board and don’t let it drag on the ground as this will damage it.
23) What if my equipment is faulty?
Whilst we always check our kit before it goes out, we understand that things can still sometimes fail. If you have any doubts, do not use and contact us. We will do our best to sort any problems out fairly and quickly.
24) What do I do if I damage or lose a piece of kit?
Please inform us immediately of any damage or loss during your rental. You can also refer to our terms and conditions for our “Damage Price List’.
25) Where should I pump up/deflate my board?
We suggest doing it in the car park rather than on the beach. It is better to pump up and deflate your board on an even, dry surface with as much shade as possible (unless you are renting one of our electric pumps which is quicker).
26) When is the best time to go paddle boarding?
Mornings and evenings are usually calmer on the water.
27) Do I need to have experience to paddle board?
No. A lot of our customers are first-timers. In calm conditions most first-timers will get to a standing position. Don’t forget paddle boarding can also be enjoyed in a kneeling or sitting position.
28) Can I take a passenger on my board?
Yes. All of our boards should be able to accommodate one. Please look at the specifications listed with each of our boards.
29) Do I have to inflate the board by hand?
Not if you don’t want to. All of our boards come with a manual pump as standard but you can rent an electric pump from us as an extra, if you wish. This plugs into the cigarette lighter socket of your car.
30) When do I Stand Up on the board ?
In order to protect the fins and yourselves, we advise you start off, and finish, by kneeling on the boards until you are away from the shore. Do not stand up on the boards in shallow water or next to hard objects, such as rocks, boats, anchors, buoys.
31) Do I need to wear shoes?
No. We don’t wear shoes on the boards, although you can wear waterproof shoes if you wish. Some beaches have stones in shallow water and so please be mindful of both your feet and the fins. Please note some areas may also have sea urchins so once again be mindful of this. If you wish to wear flip-flops to the water’s edge, you can tuck these into the strap on the front of the board.
